Eric B. Maughan

Eric was born in Puyallup and grew up locally. He attended WSU and graduated with a B.A. in Political Science. He met his wife at WSU, and after graduating they moved to Southern California where he attended law school. While attending school in San Diego, Eric interned at the Federal Public Defenders of San Diego, drafting motions and sentencing recommendations and assisting in federal criminal trials.

After graduating from law school in 2002, Eric and his wife returned to Puyallup where he started his career in a small law firm in Tacoma. His general practice was broad and included bankruptcies, estate planning and probates, landlord/tenant disputes, contractor/homeowner disputes, property line disputes, personal injury, corporations, contracts, traffic infractions, guardianships, family law, and criminal law.

Beginning in 2020, he began to focus primarily on family and criminal matters, but he has not forgotten his roots and successes handling a wide range of practice areas. His trial experience is extensive and began with a felony trial just months after he passed the bar. Since his admission in 2002, he has participated in countless civil and criminal trials, and still finds each case has its own unique set of issues.

As the proud father of two successful teenage daughters and a devoted husband, Eric has personal insight into the importance of family and the complexity of family issues. He offers a down-to-earth solution to complex problems.
